UCF's Burnett Honors College application

I just recieved a letter with an application to the honors program at UCF. The application says submit ASAP. I researched the program and found my gpa and act score were just at the average level for the program.(30 act & 4.3 gpa) I decided that I should probably get a couple letters of rec to help my chances. How long should i give my teachers to write them? Should I send my application early then my letters of rec at a latter date or send them all together? Or should i just forget about the letters of rec all together? the application does say they are optional. Thanks for the help

Where you accepted already to UCF?
My son sent his application after the normal application without letters of recommendation and he was accepted. The sooner you send it, the better.
Make sure you work on the essays.
    Good luck!
