    Hi shoboemom,

I found those statistics on the CollegeBoard.com website.
    Hope that helps,

Thank you. I would probably have done the same...just innocently wait for the $ to be applied. Thank you for the heads up on that!

Also - it took SO long for the money to get applied. The first semester, I didn't really know what I was doing so I just waited innocently for it to be applied. Then, when registration came, my daughter's records were on hold because the FL PP had not been applied. She had to go thru a red tape nightmare. The second semester I was on top of it every step of the way. Once FL PP showed it had been sent I contact the FA office at the school and made sure they stayed on top of it. I just don't have enough $ to pay that amount in advance. My son is graduating from UF this year and because of that our EFC is doubling. :( Oh well. At least we had one year where it was reasonable. I knew that would happen and I am just blessed my kids are doing well and we can manage to pay without student loans. Good luck to you!

We have Florida Prepaid for our daughter who goes to an Ivy. Our expected contribution was $15K. I actually only had to pay 11.5K because the FL Prepaid paid and they didn't count it. I had a really hard time figuring out the CSS/FAFSA because of the FL prepaid. I kept asking the school's FA office- where do I list this? The person I worked with just said to send a letter explaining it. Also, when you apply you don't know how much you will get! This year it was $108.25 per credit for Out of State. Next year I assume it will go up. I called FL Prepaid office and asked them how much it would be ... they didn't know until school had already started. And, you don't know how many credits your child will take! I am estimating it will go up 15% this year! I don't know if this is how it works at all schools but that's how it worked at Columbia. Good luck!
