    Hello poi!
Last year, you gave me some extremely amazing colleges to apply to after telling me that WUSTL was a reach. Sadly, I was indeed rejected from WUSTL, but thanks to you I found University of Rochester (which became one of my top choices) and was admitted to it! I just wanted to give a huge thanks to you for your list of schools you posted earlier. (:
    Thank you again!

    Hello poi!

I decided to go to pitt.. I didn't even end up applying to Duquesne. I toured both campus's in April of '11 and really did not like the vibe I got at Duquesne. Do you remember anything regarding housing for upcoming freshmen? I submitted my enrollment deposit nearly a month ago and have received a lot of different information about housing and housing deposits (i.e I would get an email directing me, I would get a packet in the mail in a week, etc.)

Hello! We talked This past summer and you were very helpful in talking with me about Texas/McCombs, so as promised I'm following up! I have been very fortunate with college acceptances, and have narrowed things down to 2 choices: 1) Engineering Honors at Texas A&M with a generous amount of merit aid 2) The Business Honors Program at McCombs! I'm torn between the 2, as they are both great opportunities, but I guess that's a good problem to have!

Hey, there. Doubt you remember me because it's been so long (I really need to login here more often, it's been 8 months since we last talked). Anyways, I just got my ACT score back. Composite of 32. I think for majors I'm starting to lean more towards computer science or computer software engineering. So still in that math, science area. Thanks for the recommendations earlier. Don't really know what else to add here

My younger son applied and looked at it 2 years ago and liked it but the school did not really have what he wanted to major in only a minor (film). He is at University of Pittsburgh and is very happy there.

Yeah I'm coming in from California. Yeah I've talked a few people they think I will be okay. Whats funny is there is always something after what you are waiting on. First it was admission, now its housing, then its getting requirements done etc.. Never ending! Will do!! What was your reason for visiting Rutgers out of curiosity?

Thank you so much! :) Well, currently I am undecided as far as majors go; however, my possible interests include psychology, nursing, environmental science, spanish, and anything else I might eventually choose to do (I always leave my options open just in case I might find a new passion). My goal is to become a physician assistant, so as long as I have a solid scientific background I believe I'll be just fine for PA school. :)
Do you think that my choice of applying as undecided might hinder my chances of admission?
I really appreciate everything, thank you again. :) I wish the best of luck for your son!

Thanks so much for all the meteorology info, Poi. Found out from my niece that she got a 25 her first ACT go around. Nice to see the test optional school in there. It is sad in that she is a bright kid, but has been in a poor school and had little family support.

Thanks! I'm actually looking at out of state college more. University of Massachusetts Amherst would be perfect. I don't know if my stats would be high enough though. I asked a few friends and my guidance counselor and they told me it is a match school. :/ Thanks though! :)

Thanks! I am re taking my sat test, but my gpa won't change unfortunately :( (being senior year and I've already sent in my transcripts). But I've taken really heard classes...probly some of the hardest at my school and have done well in them (like As and Bs in honors and AP courses). I'll look into those other schools too! I just hope Baylor chooses me....i really really do I love the school :) thank you for your insight, I very much appreciate it!

Thank you! Yeah, this desicion is extremely tough. On one hand, I LOVE the urban feeling of Pitt but with the campus feeling. On the other, the rural location of Penn State makes it feel like a more traditional college campus. Academically, I would say they are both pretty close, maybe with Penn State better for gen. engineering and Pitt better for Biomedical. The real question is if a PSU education means more than a Pitt education in the real world.

How do your kids like both schools? What do they like, in terms of what there is to do? Also, how do they like the academics? What does each think of the other school? Do any of them choosing one school over the other? Thanks so much!
