Hope this note finds you well. My name is Emily and I'm a reporter for The Wall Street Journal newspaper. I'm working on an article about tackling financial aid and saw your smart comments on College Confidential. Are you open to chatting about your family's experiences successfully navigating the process?
Happy to chat more if you'd like - my contact information is below.
Looking forward to connecting,

I am certain you will be very successful. Your maturity and consideration for others is impressive.August 2011
Living with my dad is unfortunately not an option. And at this point, I am settled into my high school (I moved the summer between freshman and sophomore year). I don't want to go through a messy court battle and possibly lose, waste lots of money, and then end up at a third high school. It was hard enough starting high school a second time, let alone a third. My youngest sibling is 9. My mom has had custody of me since I was four.
It's too bad that I am losing out on the possibility of top 25 colleges because my mom refuses to work, but I guess that's just life. I'm sure I'll be able to have a succesful college and further career without her money, just not the way I originally planned.August 2011
Your talking about the Fordham portal right?
I applied as a transfer. I logged in and it seems to me all the info says admitted BUT all the info is directed towards freshman. I have emailed them and I am waiting a reply. If I don't get something by Thursday I will probably call and ask.March 2011
