Yes, the taverns are a good idea. The whole group (around 87 this year) will eat Thursday evening at The King's Arm Tavern. If remember correctly, Shield's Tavern had a coffee bar and sandwich shop. That might be good for Thursday's lunch.
I plan and execute this trip every year. Last year's class was bigger. (We had 120 passengers.) Typically, we have anywhere between 80-120 people. Of all the sites we see (everything in DC, Monticello, Michie's Tavern, Ash Lawn Highland, St. John's Church, Museum/White House of the Confederacy, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, and Mt. Vernon), Colonial Williamsburg is hands down their favorite (7th graders). I plan and execute another trip in Feb/March with the 8th graders and their parents to EPCOT (world geography). I LOVE my job!
Thank you so much for taking the time respond. I'll definitely try the taverns for lunch as well this year.October 2010

Hi! I'm in Colorado Springs and it looks like my son is going to decline admission to RPI in favor of Mines. What is your son's plan?April 2010
Thanks for the message. I'm always trying to get in contact with students who have similar interests. So may I ask, why does your son have reservations about NEU? Also what department of engineering is he interested in? What other schools is he looking at? And can I conclude that your son is interested in music as well? You don't have to answer all those questions if you don't want to, I'm just excited about seeing other similar students applying to NEU, and I would be happy to answer any questions you or he would have for me. I'm very opinionatedJanuary 2010
