Hi! applying to transfer to stern internally. any advice on what I should say for the essay? I dont have the best gpaMarch 2013
I'm in a huge dilemma right now.My parents are sending me to IP university's (delhi) best college for BBA(bachelors in business administration).Though I had a 9.6 cgpa in 10th grade, still they feel that with a score of 74% in my senior year won't get me into NYU even if I score 2300 on the SAT.So they want me to apply as a transfer because when I will have a much much better GPA in college, then maybe I might get into NYU.
But I feel that the transfer spots are so few that the chances for me to get into NYU stern would be much higher if I apply as a freshman. What do you think?
Thanks for taking the time out to read this. Please reply ASAP.

hey, question. I'll be in CAS econ next year freshman year, but I really want to transfer into Finance at Stern. Is a strong GPA all I need to be able to succesfully do this, or are there other things (EC's, clubs, internships), since I'm assuming a lot of kids want to transfer internally and there will be many with strong grades? Also, registration is starting soon, and I was wondering if you could tell me which classes to take for me to increase my chance of getting into Stern as a transfer. (I read that you siad calc II, but math isn't much of a strong point) thanks manMay 2012
I took summer classes so that I could finish early -- I also had a few AP credits. I've also only taken classes inside of my majors/minor, with the only exception being gen eds.April 2012
Not a problem
I'm actually graduating this summer and then heading off to law school at Durham in the UK.April 2012
Hey! I was reading a thread where you posted that you read a few articles about how african-americans are given more of a curve when applying. May you post a link to the articles if you have them? Does this apply to NYU Stern? I want to apply to there in the future, but my chances of getting in seem slim and this gave me a bit of confidence.April 2012
Hey there I'm an incoming freshman to the college of arts and sciences who also has some Stern aspirations. I was wondering if you could give me a few more specifics in terms of the process of applying to transfer. For example assuming we take the proper classes do we attempt to transfer at the end of freshman year or after a semester? If the advisers are clueless where do we go to in order to apply? Do we it through the common app or is there a separate internal transfers form? Again thanks a bunch for your post, after reading some of the other comments on this topic I pretty much gave up on that goal or aspiration but your post has given me something to think about.April 2012
