AP Test Questions

ao8capsIUao8capsIU 6 replies2 discussions Forum Champion
Hey guys, I just have a few questions on AP tests and IU

1.) I know AP is creating an online score reporting site, will that have scores from 2012? I took AP U.S. and wish to send it to IU

2.) My orientation date (where I register for classes) is July 1, and the site says that the online reporting will be available July 8, so what do I do so that I can get credit for my AP tests this year and last year?

3.) I took AP U.S. last year and got a 3
This year I'm taking Micro, Macro, and French and expect a 3+ on all of them, will sending these to Indiana be a problem at all? Can someone walk me through the process? I'm very confused.

Thank you so much in advance, I appreciate every response.

When you took the AP test this year did you put down IU to receive your scores? If you did all your scores will be sent there. If you have not sent any of your scores to IU you can send your past scores now or you can bring copies of your AP scores to orientation. If you go on your OneStart account it will have all your AP test scores received and what they count for. When you go orientation you will not have your AP scores from this year available. I am going to select courses at orientation that are not impacted by my recent AP scores.

yes, i did put down IU for this year's AP tests, so that'll be fine, thank you!

but, i lost my score report for last year's AP test results, so how can IU get that in time for orientation so i can get my gen-ed credits?

I dont think it will be a big deal if you dont have the scores with you. You know what they count for and what classes you wont have to take. When IU gets all the scores your OneStart will be updated and you will be fine. If you are worried you can always pay and have your old scores sent to IU. That is what I did.

You can call college board and have them send out your scores for $12.00. That is what we did for my D.

Go to OneStart..Go to student center....click on My Academics & Grades...Look for Transfer, Test, Other Credit....click on View test credit.

All test scores: AP/SAT/ACT should be there. There will be also info about what AP scores count for at IU

It sounds as if you are assuming you need to know the credits prior to orientation. That is wrong. Advisors know scores are/are not available for many prior to orientation. They will ask you what AP tests you've taken, and what you expect to receive.

You don't need the credit prior to orientation. You just need to know what tests you've taken so you don't take a class for which you might receive AP credit. It will appear on your transcripts later in the year. The advisors have access to your transcripts, but they are not responsible for updating them. I believe the registrars office is responsible for transcripts and updating them for AP credits, etc.

As some one said, just make sure you have College Board send your results to IU. I believe there is/was an option to have ALL College Board test results sent at one time.
