I've heard a rumor that the DBQ will be the 1920s, but I'm calling a troll and guessing the DBQ will be 1820s

I'm calling sectional tensions leading to the Civil War.

Anything in particular about the 1920s, you guys think? Last year had a FRQ about "cultural conflicts" in the 1920s (had to choose 2 of the 3: immigration, prohibition, religion)

I guess it could be something about mass production/consumption / conformity ? Any other ideas?

Anyone have teachers that have been good at predicting the topics each year?

My teacher has been correct on DBQ predictions 5 out of 6 years. The one time he was off was when he didn't anticipate back-to-back Puritan DBQs.
He's calling Manifest Destiny and/or sectionalism prior to Civil War on this year's DBQ.
Most likely, Puritans as an essay question because of nearly 7 years since we've had them.

@working123 Its not going to be puritans, that was 2010's prompt.
The dbq is going to be on the Era of Good Feelings/Jacksonian Era or the Progressive Era/Roaring 20s.

@tartcake I think so, too. I guess Manifest Destiny could be it, but is there really enough info about MD, in particular, to talk about? There's a lot more info about sectional tensions leading up to the Civil War. MD is mostly just...Texas, Oregon, and the Mexican War

Yea, dismiss Puritans, just realized that DBQ after I saw what you said.

Anyways, Manifest Destiny could talk about Adams-Onis treaty with Florida and Oregon territory, then Oregon trail and fever, texas annexation under Tyler, Arastook War and Oregon treaty represented our urge to gain more land, then obviously Mexican american war and getting california/new mexico/utah territories and eventual gold rush, later Gadsen purchase just cause...
Basically, alot of stuff could be put in to justify our ways of wanting to expand.

@riffed I can see (longshot tho) one about MD and its affect on domestic and foreign policy throughout the 1800s... longshot but more likely as there is actually stuff to talk about. Sectional tensions unlikely since that was an frq last year.
@tennisgirl17 for questions 2/3 pre gilded age: Pre Revolution and Era of Good Feelings. for questions 4/5 gilded age and beyond: guarantee progressives (since that is almost always a frq topic) and 1950s/60s changes. Just my guesses.
