BC PSP - vs - Yale?

My student committed to BC PSP and I am the one having second thoughts.
I know the May 1 deadline has come and gone. Has anyone ever changed their mind after committing?
What are the potential advantages of the Presidential Scholars program (full tuition scholarship, but paying room and board) at BC vs. going to Yale (with scholarships roughly half of full cost)? The remaining cost difference in this case is not substantial for our family. So are there other advantages to this choice?

I would like to BUMP this thread! I'm having second thoughts as well about choosing UWisc over Carleton, but the deadline has passed!

Don't necessarily agree with Bluebayou. I know plenty of people who have succeeded based on the place THEY wanted to attend.. Not their parents.

Montessori Mom-Your child has (had) two wonderful choices. Let this be his decision and try not to second guess it. It's not fair to jerk your child around now that the choice has been made and the deposit is in, even if Yale would consider it. It's time to celebrate.

Isaiah- If you really feel you made a mistake, you could always contact Carleton and see what they say. It may be too late, but no harm in asking.

Moonchild: I know; I know. That's why I posted - I was looking for some words of wisdom to remind me why it's important to keep doing what a Montessori mom does best: sit on my hands (even while biting my lip) while my children develop their sense of self; explore their interests; and reach heights I could never have imagined. So, thank you - it's exactly what I needed to hear. He will definitely take his own path on this - and I won't stand in his way as he sets out on what will be a great journey.

Deep breaths. BC is a great school. We will be sending our second in the fall.
